Standing Facilities
The MMA Standing facilities aim to provide and absorb overnight liquidity, signal the general monetary policy stance and establish an interest rate corridor by providing a ceiling and a floor for the market interest rate. There are two standing facilities available to commercial banks, the Overnight Deposit Facility and the Overnight Lombard Facility.

Overnight Deposit Facility
The purpose of the MMA’s Overnight Deposit Facility is to enable the commercial banks to place their excess funds denominated in Rufiyaa, with MMA on an overnight basis.

Overnight Lombard Facility
The purpose of the MMA’s Overnight Lombard Facility is to enable the commercial banks to access funds denominated in Rufiyaa, from MMA on an overnight basis.
