Allied Insurance Company was established in Maldives in 1985 as a joint venture Company between the State Trading Organization and the Commercial Union Assurance Company of the United Kingdom. Currently, the State Trading Organization holds full ownership, and the company operates under local management with the support of international reinsurers. Allied provides services in various areas of insurance in addition to undertaking damage surveys and acting as claims settling agents and as correspondents for foreign insurance firms and protection and indemnity clubs.
