| The Maldives Monetary Authority has the sole right and authority to issue legal tender notes and coins in Maldives as specified in the Chapter 3 of the Maldives Monetary Authority Act 1981. The Authority is responsible for printing banknotes, minting coins and maintaining an adequate stock of banknotes and coins in consistence with the growth and stability of the economy |
